Fun in the Sun Beach Day Advice

Every once in a while, there are days that we get to indulge in something fun for all of us, yesterday was one of those rare days where everything aligned up perfectly and we were able to enjoy a beach day as a family. If anyone knows me, they know that my husband has been working so hard with school and work, and these days are so much appreciated. The kids needed this just as badly as I did.

3. Don’t Over Pack on Beach Day

As a mother, of course, I over packed and since my husband and I are a team, he over packed too. So that’s over packing times 2. And even better, we did not even use half of the things we brought. My husband even made the comment, as he pulled the wagon through the sand, “I bet these people either feel bad for us with all the stuff we have or are impressed with all the stuff we have.” HA!

2. Allow the Beach Day Excitement

The parent in you is trying to control everything and the child in you is freaking out like your own children. HA! The sand does something strange to kids. As soon as they feel the sand on their toes, they lose all control of their lives and minds. But I cannot be sure if it is the sand that does it or if it is the sight of looking so far out to the lake and being so small in that moment that they just have these big feelings of excitement that need to be let out. Bringing a kid to the beach is one of the most magical things you can do with them so allow the excitement.

1. Be at the Beach with Your Kids

Try to remember to bring your childlike heart to the beach with your kids. Your kids want to play with you and want to be happy with you. They love you so much and need you to be there with them at that special moment. Take a break from your phones and other distractions and see the glorious time that the beach offers you.

The Best Days are the Shortest Days

Remember, the best days are the shortest days and treasure this time with your family. I definitely fell victim to the day being extra short and I already miss it! We had a beautiful family day at the beach and hope to do it again very soon.
